IRVING, Texas - Marissa Steen earned her second-straight selection to the Conference USA Women's Golf All-Academic Team, as announced Thursday by the league office.

"I've always felt that working hard in the classroom is just as important as working hard on the golf course. Taking care of my assignments and homework allows me to focus solely on golf when I'm on the course."

The three-time 2011 Golfer of the Week holds a 3.94 mark as a sport and leisure management major and a communications minor. She has received Dean's List accolades each of the past five semesters and has maintained a 4.0 GPA each of the last two semesters.

Steen has been just as impressive on the course this season. The West Chester, Ohio, native earned a conference-best four medalist honors this season, leading Memphis to the team championship in all four events. In 11 tournaments played, Steen has posted eight top-10 finishes.
