IRVING, Texas.—Marissa Steen was named to the 2010 Conference USA All-Academic team, as announced by the league office Friday.

Steen was the only sophomore selected to the squad and is the first Lady Tiger to earn the honor since Rachel Larson in 2008. The West Chester, Ohio native owns a 3.90 GPA in sports and leisure management and is a two-time C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medalist.

The sophomore earned medalist honors at the USA Lady Jaguar Invitational and led the Tigers to their second title of the season.

“I’m very proud of Marissa,” said Lady Tiger head coach Beth Harrelson. “It just shows how much effort she’s put in this season both on and off the golf course.”
