MEMPHIS, Tenn.—The University of Memphis women’s golf team will travel to Hattiesburg, Miss. to compete in the 2010 Conference USA Championship on April 18-20. The event is hosted by Southern Miss and will be held at Canebrake Country Club.

Ten teams are set to compete in the event: Tulane, Tulsa, East Carolina, UCF, UTEP, Marshall, Memphis, SMU, UAB, and Southern Miss.

The Lady Tigers earned runners-up honors in their last event (EKU Lady Colonel Classic) by posting a season-low tournament total of 909. Memphis was led by freshman Alex Aläng , who carded scores of 75-73-76 to post a career-low individual finish of third. Aläng earned Conference USA Golfer of the Week Honors for her performance.

Memphis finished eighth last year in the Conference USA Championship and was led by Marissa Steen’s 12th place individual finish. The Lady Tigers last won the C-USA crown in 2007.
