MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis women's golf team is set to travel to Gulf Shores, Ala., to compete in the 2012 Conference USA Championship, April 23-25.

The annual 10-team tournament will be held at the Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club, which features a par 72, 6,246-yard course.

The 54-hole event will be contested over three-days, with 18 holes of play scheduled for each day. Playing partners for the championship's first day will be determined by a blind draw, while pairings for the second and third rounds will be determined by team scores.

As a team, the U of M finished fourth at the 2010 and 2011 C-USA Championships.

Last season, the Lady Tigers were paced by eventual C-USA runner-up Marissa Steen, who fired rounds of 77-70-73--220. Alex Aläng scored 79-73-78--230 en route to an 18th place finish at last year's championship.

In 2010, Aläng was the Lady Tigers leading golfer, carding scores of 72-73-74--220 and finishing in seventh-place, while then-freshman Julia Hodgson finished in 10th place with a performance of 72-76-73--221.

The winner of the C-USA Championship will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.

Tee times are slated for 7:30 a.m., on each of the tournament's three days of play, and live scoring is available via GolfStat.com.
