May 8, 2007 MEMPHIS, TENN. - The University of Memphis women's golf team traveled to St. George, Utah, on Tuesday to participate in the 2007 NCAA West Regional on May 10-12 at Entrada at Snow Canyon. The Lady Tigers, who are competing in their first-ever NCAA postseason event since 2002, will tee off at 1:20 p.m. MDT on Thursday. Memphis will be paired with Sacramento State and Columbia. Live statistics will be available on golfstat.com. Memphis earned a No. 19 seed in the tournament after winning the Conference USA title. The squad is one of 21 teams in St. George vying for a spot in the NCAA Championship. The top eight teams and two individuals from each of the three regional tournaments (East, West, Central) will advance to the championship event to be hosted at the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Fla. This is a great time to be a Memphis Tiger," said Coach Jenny Bruun. "The team is peaking right now and they do not want the season to end. They are not ready to put their clubs away. We are ready to go out there and play." "This is a new challenge for us," added Bruun. "It is all new to them. I've been to a Regional as a player and as a coach. We are just looking forward to playing. It is going to be exciting."
