MEMPHIS, Tenn. –Former University of Memphis women’s golf standout Marissa Steen made the cut and finished in a tie for 34th last weekend in her pro debut on the Symera Tour.

Steen graduated Memphis as one of the most decorated Lady Tigers in history. In addition to being named first team all-conference in 2011 and 2012, she was also a member of the second team in 2010. She was a five-time C-USA Golfer of the week, three-time member of the C-USA All-Academic team and three-time NGCA All-America scholar.

“Marissa made a huge impact on our program here at the University of Memphis, and I believe she is ready for the next level,” said Memphis head coach Beth Harrelson. “She has proven herself to be a competitor, and I am thrilled to be able to watch her continue to grow and mature. She is a difference maker in every venue she attempts.”

Steen posted rounds of 75-75-74 at the My Marsh Golf Classic in Fishers, Ind. and finished in a tie for 34th. She was one of 76 players to make the cut.
