Women's Golf Releases 2013 Fall Schedule
July 3, 2013
MEMPHIS - - The University of Memphis women's golf team has announced its 2013 fall schedule of five tournaments, which includes the program's annual FedEx Memphis Women's Intercollegiate, slated for Sept. 9-10th at Ridgeway Country Club in Memphis.
The Lady Tigers will open their fall slate with that home tournament, looking to build on last year's third-place finish in the event. From there, the team will venture to Louisville, Ky., to participate in conference foe Louisville's fall tournament, the 2013 Cardinal Cup, Sept. 16-17th.
Following a short break, the team then finishes the season south of Memphis, participating in The Old Waverly Mississippi State Bulldog Invitational (Sept. 30-Oct. 2), the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational (Oct. 20-22) and the UAB Beach Blast (Oct. 28-29) to close out the fall.
The Lady Tigers return five letterwinners from last season's team, and gain redshirt freshman Andrea Cropper and true freshman Leighann Cabush, who was a two-time top five finisher at the Wisconsin State Golf Championships.
The women's golf program is coached by former Lady Tiger Beth Harrelson, who enters her sixth season at the helm of her alma mater. The team is competing in the American Athletic Conference for the first time this season. Fellow American Athletic Conference programs competing in women's golf include: Cincinnati, Houston, Louisville, Rutgers, SMU, UCF and USF.
