MEMPHIS - -
Former University of Memphis women's golfer Marissa Steen won her third professional title of the season after firing a final round 66 at the Symetra Tour's Eagle Classic in Richmond, Virginia, Sunday. With the win, Steen becomes the first Symetra Tour player to pick up three tournament victories on the season and will now be eligible to compete in LPGA tour events this year, rather than waiting until receiving her tour card for the 2015 season.
Steen entered the weekend in second place in the Volvik Race for the Card with over $60,000 in winnings already this season. In 15 Symetra Tour events, she has posted three victories and 10 top 10 finishes.

With her third Symetra Tour current year win, Steen is now be eligible for LPGA tour events this season. Steen had already wrapped up a spot on the LPGA tour for 2015, as one of the top 10 finishers on the money list, but as a Symetra Tour winner with wins in three events in the same season, Steen can be added to the LPGA fields for the remainder of the 2014 golf schedule.
There are three events left on the 2014 Symetra Tour calendar - the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Charity Classic (Sept. 5-7), the Garden City Charity Classic (Sept. 11-13) and the year-ending Symetra Tour Championship (Sept. 18-21).
Steen was a four-year letterwinner in women's golf at Memphis. She was a 2012 first-team all-conference honoree and was a tournament medalist six times in her Memphis career.
