IRVING, Texas--Marissa Steen has been named the Conference USA Female Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday.
Steen posted scores of 71-67 en route to earning medalist honors at the 2010 Bobcat Invitational in Bozeman, Mont. Her 36-hole total of 138 is the lowest in program history, eclipsing Valerie Luehrs' previous mark of 139 set at the 1997 Lady Tar Heel Invitational.
Steen's performance gave her a nine-stroke victory over teammate Julia Hodgson (72-73--145) and led Memphis to a 34-stroke team victory. The Lady Tigers posted a program-low 36-hole total of 579 (291-288), besting the previous best of 581 which was also set at the Lady Tar Heel Invitational in 1997.
