MEMPHIS, Tenn.— The University of Memphis women’s golf team will travel to Greenville, N.C. to compete in the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate Oct. 11-12. The tournament will be contested at the par-71 6,040-yard Greenville Country Club with East Carolina serving as the tournament’s host school.

16 teams are scheduled to compete this week, including four ranked in Golfweek’s top-100: Augusta State (No. 55), Charleston Southerm, East Carolina (No. 59), Elon, Gardner-Webb, Georgetown, Longwood, Memphis, Maryland (No. 79), UNC-Wilmington, Old Dominion, Univ. of Pennsylvania (No. 83), Radford, Richmond, South Florida, and William and Mary.

The Lady Tigers opened the 2010 campaign with a 34-stroke victory at the Bobcat Invitational. Memphis posted a program-low 36-hole total of 579 (291-288) behind Marissa Steen’s rounds of 71-67. Steen’s performance was not only the lowest 36-hole individual total in school history, but it was also enough for medalist honors and C-USA Female Golfer of the Week accolades.

Memphis followed that performance with a fifth place showing at the Cincinnati Fall Classic, where Steen again led them. Steen carded scores of 77-74-74 at Elks Run Golf Course to post the 12th top-20 finish of her career.

Live scoring will be available for the event via www.golfstat.com.
