MEMPHIS, Tenn.- Coming off a second-place finish at the Lady Paladin Invitational on Sunday and a first-place finish at the Wildcat Fall Invitational the previous week, the University of Memphis women's golf team cracked Golfweek Magazine's Top 50. The Lady Tigers will enter their final fall tournament as the No. 43 team in the nation.

"It's been a lot of fun, and the kids are really excited," head coach Jenny Bruun said. "Every one of our players has improved each week. That's something you're always looking for as a coach. We're just taking it one tournament at a time, and the five that have played each tournament have come to play each time. They're very competitive, and when you have five competitors teeing it up each week, good things are going to happen."

Memphis has finished in the top-10 in each of its first four fall tournaments. The Lady Tigers opened the season with a sixth-place finish at the Badger Women's Golf Invitational. A fifth-place finish at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate combined with their most recent two tournaments gave the Lady Tigers three-consecutive top-five finishes, including one tournament win.

The Lady Tigers will look to turn in one last strong performance when they travel to the America's Choice Mortgage Lady Jaguar Invitational hosted by Augusta State Nov. 6-7. Their fifth tournament of the season will conclude the fall portion of the schedule.

"I keep saying that we still haven't played our best golf yet, which is exciting because we've finished ahead of some really good teams already this season," Bruun said. "We're on the way up, and if we keep improving and everyone gets healthy, we should be in good shape."
