BAYONET POINT, Fla. - University of Memphis freshman Meaghan Francella shot a one-over par 73 to share the lead after the first round of the University of South Florida's Beacon Woods Invitational.

The Lady Tigers are tied for third with Miami at the tournament with first-round team scores of 311, just two strokes off the team lead. USF shot a 309 on Friday while Central Florida shot a 310. Rounding out the top six at the 12-team tournament are Georgia State and Florida International which shot opening rounds of 312 on Friday.

Memphis's Sandray Hellsvik and Jennifer Jaszek both shot a 79 on Friday to share 24th place at the tournament which continues today. The final round is slated for Sunday at the Beacon Woods Country Club.

Also tied for first place is South Florida's Kelly Lagedrost and both Michelle Simpson and Ellen Dunne of Florida International.
