Lady Tigers Travel to Hawai'i for Rainbow Wahine Invite

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Following their home tournament last week, the University of Memphis women’s golf team wraps up their fall schedule with a trip to Hawai’i. The Lady Tigers will compete in the Rainbow Wahine Invitational hosted by the University of Hawai’i at Leilehua Golf Course in Wahiawa, O’ahu, October 30 and 31.The tournament will consist of 12 teams, including five teams that are in the top 100 of Golfstat’s rankings. Those four teams are Florida International University (51), UC-Irvine (53), Washington State University (72), North Dakota State University (97) and Eastern Michigan University (100). The rest of the field includes Boise State University, BYU, University of Toledo, New Mexico State University, Memphis, Hawai’i and Sacramento State University. Playing for the Lady Tigers will be Alex Aläng, Ashleigh Whisenant, Ashley Kees and Sarah Mathews. All of the Lady Tigers placed in the top-25 last week, led by Aläng who placed sixth and Whisenant who finished 13th. Hodgson placed 16th, while Kees and Mathews rounded out the group at 21st and 24th, respectively. Natalie Turk will also be participating as an individual for the Lady Tigers. The Rainbow Wahine Invitational will be played at Leilehua Golf Course. The par-72 course will play at 6,228 yards for the Invitational. The tournament will consist of three rounds, two of which will be played on Tuesday, October 30, starting at 8:00 a.m. local time, 1:00 p.m. (CT). The third round will start with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. local time on Wednesday. Memphis will play with Eastern Michigan and Washington State for the first two rounds. The groups will start on holes 11-15 for the first two rounds. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.com.
