MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After her performance at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, University of Memphis women’s golfer Alex Aläng earned her second Conference USA Women’s Golfer of the Week award. She placed third, just one stroke out of first, in the Lady Tigers’ final tournament of the fall.

The senior from Tullinge, Sweden matched the low round of her career when she carded a one-under 71 in the first round of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational. Aläng ended that round with an eagle, two, on her final hole, the par four eighth hole. She followed that round up with back-to-back rounds of 74, finishing with a three round total of 219. That scored landed her in third place, just one shot behind the medalists. This is the second weekly award Aläng has won this season, and third of her career.

The Lady Tigers have concluded their fall schedule and will get back on the course in February at Sir Pizza Terrapin Challenge in Miami Lake, Fla.
