Stillwater, Okla. – #20 Oklahoma State (3-1-0) used a 54th minute goal to break a 1-1 tie to defeat #13/15 Memphis (3-1-0) in a match-up featuring two top-20 programs in Stillwater, Okla., on Friday.

Oklahoma State opened the scoring in the 36th minute on a goal by Catherine Parish. Parrish fired the shot from 15 yards out to the far post and Katie Richardson was credited with the assist.

Junior midfielder Julia Ignacio scored the equalizer for Memphis in the 47th minute. Senior forward Ashley Berra fed Ignacio the ball on a cross and Ignacio found the back of the net from six yards out for her fourth career goal. Berra was credited with the assist for her 66th career point, leaving her three points shy of fourth place on the career points list at the U of M.

Cowgirl forward Krista Lopez scored the go-ahead goal for Oklahoma State in the 54th minute after a cross by Colleen Dougherty.

Senior midfielder Vendula Strnadova and junior midfielder Lizzy Hildebrandt each finished with three shots. Strnadova moves within four shots of the all-time record for shots in a career with 193 career shots.

Memphis will return to action on Sunday at 1 p.m. in North Little Rock, Ark. as they face Arkansas-Little Rock (1-3-0).
