Louisville, Ky.-- - Memphis earned a draw in its first Conference USA match of the season tying Louisville 1-1 Friday in women's soccer action. It was the first draw ever in the series between the two schools that the Lady Tigers lead 4-2-1.

Junior Kirsty Marr gave the Lady Tigers (1-3-3) a 1-0 lead in the 76th minute when she finished off a cross from sophomore Nicky McLeod in the middle of the box. It was the first assist of the season for McLeod.

Louisville (3-1-2) tied the game 1-1 in the 88th minute when freshman Jamie Craft put away a rebound off Memphis goalkeeper Amy Clunie. Neither team scored in the two overtime periods as the match ended in a 1-1 tie.

"It's disappointing to give up a late goal when we played so well," Head coach Brooks Monaghan. "There are positives to build on from the match. Kirsty (Marr) had a great goal and our defense was outstanding."

Memphis outshot the Cardinals 21-14 including 4-0 in the overtime periods, but could not score the go-ahead goal. Marr led the Lady Tigers with five shots. Clunie made six saves. Meredith Miller made eight saves in goal for the Cardinals.

Memphis returns to action Sunday with a match at Cincinnati. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
