ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Memphis women's soccer dropped a 2-0 decision to St. Louis in its first Conference USA match of the season at Robert R. Hermann Stadium on the SLU campus on Friday night.

Riding a two-game winning streak, the Lady Tigers came into tonigh'ts contest looking to upset the Billikens - last year's Conference USA runners-up. Instead, Memphis was blanked, 2-0, and outshot 12-9 in front of nearly 1200 fans at Hermann Stadium.

Junior forward Ali Baker sparked the Lady Tiger offense, leading Memphis with three shots (two on goal). Sophomore keeper Katarina Wicksell also added to the Lady Tiger cause, tallying six saves.

St. Louis scored its first goal when Billiken Amy Lucier converted on a nifty 30-yard floater that slipped just under the crossbar. The Billikens extended their lead on a Jamie Perry goal that defelcted off the post.

The task does not get much easier for the Lady Tigers this weekend - they head to Milwaukee, Wis., to take on C-USA defending champ Marquette at 4p.m. on Sunday.
