Lady Tigers Tripped Up at Colorado College with 2-1 Defeat

Colorado Springs, Colo. - The Memphis women's soccer team falls to Colorado College 2-1 on Sunday. It's overall record moves to 6-4-1 on the season and 2-2-0 in C-USA play. The Lady Tigers out shot Colorado College 20-9, but could only connected for one goal on the afternoon. Senior defender Emiko Schwab scored her first goal of 2008 on a free kick in the 37th minute of the first half. Despite Memphis' 13 shot second half effort with seven coming on goal, the Lady Tigers could not connect for a score in the final period. Freshman goalkeeper Jordan Boyle made her second start of the weekend and third on the 2008 season, but suffered her first collegiate loss this afternoon. Memphis' C-USA slate continues with a set of home matches at Mike Rose Soccer Complex next weekend. The Houston Cougars come to the Bluff City for a Friday, Oct. 10 contest at 7:00 p.m. The game is U of M Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night. Memphis then goes on national television against the Rice Owls on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 12:00 p.m. Sunday's contest will be televised by CBS College Sports and is also "Pack the House" day at Mike Rose.
