HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Memphis women's soccer team extended their win streak to seven, as they beat the University of Houston 3-0 tonight on the road. Memphis is improving on their best start in school history, as they are now 9-2. Memphis posted it's sixth shutout this year, junior Emiko Schwab scored two goals in each half to give Memphis their 10th win of the season. Her first goal came off a free kick, eight minutes into the match. Junior Kylie Hayes scored her sixth goal of the season, to put the Lady Tigers up 2-0 in the second half, before Schwab scored the Lady Tigers final goal. She nailed a header into the top right corner off of an assist from junior Harumi Someya. Freshman Melissa Smith assisted on both of Schwab's goals. Both teams combined for 29 goals, while Memphis out shot Houston 23-6. Hayes is four goals away from becoming the all time goals leader in women's soccer school history. With three more goals, Hayes will tie current leader, assistant coach Jodi Grant. She is also on a The Lady Tigers are back in action on Sunday, as they face Rice at 1 p.m.
