MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Rasheeda Ansari ensured a happy send off for the winningest senior class in program history as the freshman forward hooked a shot over a diving Kate Blankenship in the 77th minute to send Memphis (13-3-3; 7-1-3 C-USA) past UAB 2-1 on senior night at Mike Rose Soccer Complex.

The goal was the fourth of the season for Ansari and the first since Sept. 24 against Colorado College. Memphis clinches a first round bye with the victory and will play next Friday in the C-USA Championship semifinals.

The Tigers came out aggressive, managing 12 shots in the first 22 minutes. Memphis would finish the game with 22 shots compared to just seven for UAB.

Ashley Berra got things started for Memphis in the tenth minute. Berra received a pass from Vendula Strnadova 18 yards out on the left side of the box before controlling it and sending it to the far post for the goal.

UAB (8-9-2; 4-5-2 C-USA) evened the mark at one on a 15th minute goal by Carolyn Polcari. The Blazers took a free kick from midfield that bounced off two Lady Tigers before Polcari controlled it and fired it into the net.

Blankenship finished with 12 saves in goal for the Blazers on the night, a career high. She set a UAB record last Sunday by recording her 329th save. Polcari's score was only the 14th goal that Memphis has allowed this season.

The Lady Tigers have now held 15 of their 19 2010 opponents to one or fewer goals. Dating back to 2007, Memphis is 58-4-5 when holding foes to one or fewer scores, including a 29-0-4 mark in C-USA play.

This was the 61st win for the 2010 senior class, which will be "Back 4 More" next week at the C-USA Championship as they defend their back-to-back-to-back titles. Memphis will play Friday in the semifinals. The opponent is to be determined.
