Memphis, Tenn. - University of Memphis women's soccer player Yuiko Konno earned her third postseason award when Soccer Buzz named her to its All-Central Region third team. The junior forward became the first Lady Tiger in the eight-year history of the program to claim All-Region honors when she was named to the All-Central Region third team by the National Coaches Association of American in December.

"Yuiko had a special year for us and is well deserving of all her awards," Head Coach Brooks Monaghan said. "She earned the respect of coaches around the region and our league. Hopefully we can continue to build on this for the future."

The Chiba-Chiba, Japan native led Conference USA in regular season goals with 12 and finished with 27 points overall, tying her for the second highest single-season point total in program history. Konno tallied the game-winning goal in three of the Lady Tigers' five wins this past season and also earned first-team All C-USA honors for her efforts. She joined three other C-USA athletes on the Soccer Buzz All-Central Region teams.
