MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis women's soccer players and staff took time out of the spring semester on Tuesday to visit Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in downtown Memphis.

"This was a special day for our players and staff," head coach Brooks Monaghan. "To be able to spend time with kids at Le Bonheur was very special. All these kids are dealing with issues more serious than others, but for our kids to put a smile on their faces is special. I think this is an important part of a team in giving back. Sometimes we don't realize how important it is to give back as student-athletes. This was a wonderful experience for our team to put smiles on kids' faces."

Players and staff distributed key chains, miniature soccer balls and other Tiger memorabilia while visiting with children at the hospital. The effort, organized by Tigers Athletics Student Athlete Development Coordinator Kristin Rusboldt, is one of many opportunities the women's soccer team takes advantage of every season.
