MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Elizabeth "Lizzy" Simonin of Lee's Summit HS in Lee's Summit, Mo., signs national letter of intent to play with the Memphis Lady Tiger soccer team. Simonin is the third 2008 signee to join the 2007 Conference USA Champions.

She plays club for KC Metro Dynamos, coached by Derek Shoare. Simonin scored a total of 22 goals and 15 assists for her club team this past season. Lizzy is currently on the Missouri Olympic Development State Team and a former Region II ODP Member.

Simonin is a three-year letterwinner for Coach David Wiebenga. She earned First Team All-State honors in her sophomore and junior years and is expected to receive the same accolade her senior season. As a junior, Simonin recorded 17 goals and 18 assists. While in high school she played alongside current Lady Tiger Krista Turner. Simonin also earned letters in basketball and softball.

She is a four-year academic letter winner and a Principal's Honor Roll honoree, and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Lizzy is the daughter of Terry and Myda Simonin. She has four siblings Jen, Hannah, Travis and Amy.

"Lizzy is a versatile player that can literally play any position on the field. Technically and tactically, she has it all, and is capable of striking a ball with either foot," said Head Coach Brooks Monaghan. "She is a great defender, and can also score goals. Lizzy is very competitive and is expected to come in immediately fighting for a starting role on the team whether it be as a central defender, forward or a center mid. She has the ability to play anywhere on the field."
