MEMPHIS - The Memphis women's soccer team finalized its 2007 signing class with the addition of three spectacular players.

Star midfielder Katie Sabet joins the Lady Tigers from El Dorado, Calif., where she was a four year letter-winner at El Dorado High School. Sabet ended her career with 19 points and helped her high school to two Century League Championships. She was named All-Century League and team MVP during her junior season.

"Katie is another great addition to the midfield," said Memphis head coach Brooks Monaghan. "It is great to have a player of her size (5-11) that can challenge for balls in the middle. With her playing in California, you are assured that she has played against excellent competition on a regular basis."

The Memphis coaching staff was extremely excited with the addition of Vendula Strnadova of Las Cruces, N.M. Strnadova was a member of the U.S. Olympic Developmental Program's National Pool in 2003. In 2006, she joined the U-19 National Team for her native Czech Republic. Strnadova was also a two-time All-State selection at Las Cruces High School.

"We are extremely excited to have a player of Vendula's caliber joining us in the fall," said Monahan. "She is definitely one of the best players to come out of New Mexico this year. She is versatile in the fact that she can play in the middle our up top. She also brings a lot of experience with having been in the U.S. National Pool system and now playing for the Czech Republic U-19 Team."

Krista Turner is a three-year starter from Lee's Summit High School in Lee's Summit, Mo. An incredible scorer, Turner set a school record with seven goals during a match in 2005. At the club level, Turner players for the KCFC Heat, which she helped to a state title in 2006.

"We feel that sky is the limit for Krista," said Monaghan. "She is tremendous athlete that can come in and give us something special at the outside forward position. Not only does she possess a lot of speed but she is composed around the goal. Krista is going to score a lot of goals for us over the next four years."
