MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis women's soccer head coach Brooks Monaghan announced Wednesday that Pickerington High School standout Ashlynn Jones has signed her National Letter of Intent to join the program for the 2013-14 season. Jones is the fifth signee in the recruiting class. "We see a ton of potential in Ashylnn," Monaghan said. "She possesses all the attributes you look for in a player. She is strong, athletic and has good skill. We believe that she can score a lot of goals for us and if she meets her potential, she will be a big-time player for us. The bottom line is, as long as Ashlynn brings the right mentality, things will take care of themselves." A native of Pickerington, Ohio, Jones helped her high school squad to the state semifinals in 2010 and 2012 and the 2010 team was state runner-up. She was a first team All-State selection in 2012 in addition to earning all-region and all-district accolades. She holds the school record for goals scored in regular season and post season games. Jones is a member of the Ohio ODP State Team, the ODP regional team and was invited to the ODP National Pool camp. Jones enjoys volunteering her time to give back to the younger children in the community, sledding, fishing, swimming and spending time with her family.
