MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis head coach Brooks Monaghan announced Thursday that Olathe East High School forward Kaitlyn Atkins has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Lady Tigers. Atkins is the 11th of 13 signees for the 2011-12 signing class.

“Kaitlyn is a player we look at as a very versatile, attacking minded player,” Monaghan said. “She is somebody we feel that can play center forward or an attacking center mid. She is very technical and has a knack for scoring goals. She is a goal scorer and those are hard to find. She is somebody that is not afraid to shoot and that’s what you look for in a goal scorer. She has a lot of potential and she is not only going to give us depth in the center forward or center mid position, but she is somebody that can push to play.”

Atkins, an Overland Park, Kan. native, earned three varsity letters and scored the game-winning goal to lift Olathe East to a 2008 6A Kansas State Championship. A 2010 First Team All-State selection, she was named the 2010 Sunflower League Offensive Player of the Year. On the club level, Atkins competed for U17 Blue Valley Stars Mallorca. Member of the ODP Region 2 Championship squad in 2008 and participated in the ODP National Championship in Dallas, Texas in 2009. Member of the Kansas ODP Team since 2004. Atkins is the daughter of Daniel and Susan Atkins.

Played in the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup in September of 2010 which was held in Trinidad and Tobago Davis helped the U17 Canadian National Team claim the CONCACAF Championship in 2010. She is a current member of the Canadian U20 National Pool. Davis is the daughter of Joanne and Steve Davis.

Member of the U13-U16 Alberta Soccer Association provincial teams from 2005-09 and played for the U18 Alberta, Canada Summer Games team. Earned seven Alberta Provincial Championships with the Sherwood Park Rangers (U12-U16). With the Edmonton Victoria Soccer Club, earned Major League Provincial Championship in 2010. Also earned the silver medal in the Women's Major League National Championship in 2010. Four-year member of the Canada Soccer Association National Training Centre-Praries (2007-11). Current member of the Canadian U20 National Pool. Craig is the daughter of Doug and Jennifer Craig.

Played with current Lady Tiger forward Rasheeda Ansari while with the GSA Phoenix squad. Daane is the daughter of Peter and Kari Daane.

	Notes: Honored nationally as a Wendy's High School Heisman Award recipient in 2010-11, Brown led her high school squad to two, 5-5A District Championships. Brown was the MVP of the 2008 Nike-Red Bull Invitational Showcase of Champions. Brown played on the club level for the D'Feeters 93 squad. Under the tutelage of coach David Pfeil, the D'Feeters claimed the 2008 and 2010 USYS Region III Premier League West Championship. Member of the South Texas State ODP Team in 2003-04, North Texas State ODP team since 2007, ODP Region III Pool since 2008 and claimed the ODP National Championship in 2009. Brown is the daughter of Paul and Diana Wagner and Bill and Rachel Brown.

	Notes: Honored A Euless, Texas native, Oxentine joines the four-time Conference USA Champions after earning defensive MVP honors the last two seasons at Trinity High. Oxentine led the Knights to the Texas State Cup Championship in 2008. On the club level, Oxentine competed with Lady Tiger signee Becca Brown for the D'Feeters 93 under the direction of coach David Pfiel. The D'Feeters earned the USYS Region III Championship in 2008 and 2010. The squad claimed the USYS '92 ODP National Championship in 2009 and placed third in the USYS National Championship in 2010. Oxentine is the daughter of Lisa and Marshall Oxentine.

	Notes: During her time at Kingwood High, Marshall led the Mustangs to three district championships and two regional finals. Marshall spent her summers with club team Eclipse 93 Black, leading the squad in goals scored in 2009 and 2010. Member of the Texas State ODP and Regional Pool. Daughter of John and Lisa Marshall.

She also competed for club squad Fort Wayne Fever Academy and the 2007 Olympic Development National Championship. Played for the Indiana ODP squad in 2007 and participated in the ODP National Camp in Florida. Borkenstein is the daughter of David and Denise Borkenstein.
