MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis women’s soccer coach Brooks Monaghan announced Tuesday that Ginesha Pickersgill of Navarro College (Texas) has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the program for the 2013-14 season.

“We are very excited to have Ginesha join our program,” Monaghan said. “We know that Ginesha is a tireless worker who will bring a great mentality to the team. We believe she will bring depth to our midfield, but she has the ability to play numerous positions. She is another versatile player that has signed. The JUCO route is not familiar to us, but Ginesha did extremely well at that level and I expect her to have a smooth transition into our program.”

While at Navarro, Pickersgill played in the midfield and helped the squad to a 17-3-2 record last fall. She tallied four goals and 10 assists for 18 points. Pickersgill played in 19 of the 22 matches registering 15 shots on the season.

Pickersgill, a Kingston, Jamaica, native, played high school soccer at Donald Quarrie High School. She earned All-Region honors during her high school career. On the club level, Pickersgill played for Water House F.C.
