Memphis, Tenn. - The University of Memphis women's soccer team shutout each of its three opponents this past weekend at the Fury College Classic Showcase at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.

The three-day showcase featured several collegiate and club teams from varying parts of the country. The Lady Tigers battled Toledo, Murray State and Dynamo Katner, which is a club team from Indianapolis, Ind., in the showcase. The Lady Tigers were led by sophomore-to-be Robyn Smart, an Indiana native, who scored four goals over the weekend.

"We had a great weekend," Memphis head coach Brooks Monaghan said. "The girls really played well. Some of our young girls really stepped up to the challenge and did a nice job for us."

Senior-to-be Kari Rawes was solid in between the posts as the Lady Tigers shutout all three teams registering 2-0 wins over Toledo and Murray State, then defeating Dynamo Katner 3-0. Erin Ferris, Nicky McLeod and Susannah Wells also scored goals for Memphis.

In a seven-on-seven tournament, which is also a part of the showcase, the Memphis Alumni team led by assistant coach Jodi Fisher, graduate assistant Emma DiCesare and former Tigers Alison Baker and Becca Amrozowicz defeated Western Kentucky in the championship match 1-0.
