March 27, 2007 MEMPHIS - The University of Memphis women's soccer team will play host Irish prep school Colaiste Ide on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex in a spring exhibition match. Memphis played two matches Saturday in Oxford, Miss., beating UL-Monroe 5-0 and tying Ole Miss 1-1. Memphis head coach Brooks Monaghan is happy to for his team to see more time on the field and thinks that tomorrow's match will be another step in preparing for the 2007 season. "It's great to be able to get an extra game in this far into the spring season," said Monaghan. "I expect all of our players to get a lot of minutes tomorrow, and it'll be another chance for us to see all of them play in a live situations." The Lady Tigers are expecting an intense match from Colaiste Ide as many of its players will be looking to prove themselves against American competition. "I know their team will be fired up," Monaghan said. "Whenever teams come in from overseas they're trying to prove themselves. I think we'll have a good match tomorrow." The Lady Tigers will be followed by a match between the Memphis and Colaiste Ide men's teams at 7:00 pm.
