MEMPHIS - The Memphis women's soccer team picked up a pair of victories Saturday in spring exhibition matches with city foes Rhodes College and Christian Brothers University.

The Lady Tigers played through wet conditions for most of the day, managing to pull out a 2-1 win over Rhodes and recording a convincing victory over CBU.

"It was a wet day, and the conditions were pretty rough," Memphis head coach Brooks Monaghan said. "It was fun to get to play against the other schools in the city, and I thought we looked pretty good."

Memphis won both matches despite missing goalkeeper Isabel Briones who was suspended for academic reasons. The Lady Tigers were forced to use a field player in the net.
