IRVING, Texas. - University of Memphis junior midfielder Maiko Higashiyama was selected to the preseason All-Conference USA Team, the league office announced today.

Last season, Hiagashiyama was named Conference USA Newcomer of the Year. She finished her first season with the Lady Tigers as the team's third leading scorer. Higashiyama scored three gamewinners for Memphis, including one in double overtime against Rice to give the Lady Tigers a 4-3 conference win. She played a critical role for the lady tigers last season. She ended her season with six goals, 13 points and a .714 shot on goal percentage.
