Memphis, Tenn. -

Junior midfielder Vendula Strnadova was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the week as announced Monday by the league office.

Strnadova fired the game-winning goal from 20 yards out directly in front of the net in the 2-0 win for the Lady Tigers against 25th ranked LSU on Aug. 21. She recorded five shots on the game with four being on goal.

Strnadova is the first player to receive C-USA Offensive player of the week honors since Lizzy Simonin received the honors last October. The award marks the first time the midfielder has received the honors.

The Lady Tigers (1-0-0) return to action on Friday Aug. 28th playing host to UALR (1-0-0) at Mike Rose Soccer Complex. Kick-off is set for 7 pm.
