The University of Memphis women’s soccer program returns to action Friday at 7 pm against Arkansas-Little Rock at Echles Field.

The Lady Tigers are coming off of a well-played match against previously 25th-ranked LSU in Baton Rouge, La., on August 21. Vendula Strnadova and Ashley Berra netted two goals that were more than enough to give the Lady Tigers the season opening victory as the Lady Tiger defense stymied the LSU offense to five shots on the game with none on goal.

UALR travels to Memphis to face the Lady Tigers after defeating Murray State 2-0 on August 21. Christina Veasley netted two goals which proved to be the difference in UALR’s season opener against Murray State. Junior goalkeeper Jane Picarelli recorded six saves and posted the shutout for the Trojans. Memphis will face UALR in its home opener for the third-straight season. The Lady Tigers have won the last two contests between the teams by a combined score of 9-1. Memphis holds the series lead against UALR, 4-1-0. Memphis has posted an all-time record of 10-3-1 in home openers.

Fans can view an interview with C-USA offensive player of the week and Soccer Times National Team of the Week honoree Vendula Strnadova on the All-Access page.

Admission to the match will be free. Lady Tiger fans can view live stats of the game on GameTracker via, www.gotigersgo.com . Fans should click on “GameTracker” on the sidebar under women’s soccer and follow the action.
