Memphis, Tenn. – University of Memphis junior defender Lizzy Simonin was tabbed one of 15 CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performers of the Week as announced on Tuesday.

The reigning Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week helped Memphis to a second-straight shutout with a 1-0 victory over LSU. Having changed from a forward to defender during the offseason, Simonin played all 90 minutes at center back and cleared attack after attack by LSU in the final 15 minutes of action as #18 LSU attempted to score the equalizer. The Lee's Summit, Mo., native proved to be a stalwart in the back as Memphis posted the shutout to start the season at 3-0 for the first time in program history.

Simonin is the third Lady Tiger to earn CollegeSoccer360 Primetime Performer of the Week honors in the last two seasons. Ashley Berra and Vendula Strnadova earned the national honors after the 2009 C-USA Tournament in which Memphis won its third-straight championship.

#13/15 Memphis returns to action on Friday at #20 Oklahoma State. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. at Cowgirl Soccer Complex in Stillwater, Okla.
