Memphis Continues Climb in National Polls
Sept. 6, 2011 MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Riding a five-game win streak, the University of Memphis women's soccer team continues to climb in the various top-25 polls released on Tuesday. Following a third-straight shutout, Memphis (5-0-0) is ranked 16th in both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and Soccer America polls. The No. 16 ranking marks the second-highest ranking in program history in each poll. Soccer Times ranks the Lady Tigers No. 22 up one spot from last week's release. The 16th-ranked Lady Tigers return to Mike Rose Soccer Complex on Friday and host rival Ole Miss at 7 p.m. Friday's match along with Sunday's 2 p.m. clash with Charlotte are part of "Heroes Weekend." All police, fire, EMS, and military personnel will get free admission for them and their families with ID.
