IRVING, Texas - Freshman forward/midfielder Diamond Simpson collected the golden goal in Memphis' 2-1 double-overtime win at Vanderbilt on Thursday and today was recognized as the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced.

Simpson, nicknamed the "Terminator", collected her first career game-winning goal with her first career goal in the win at Vanderbilt. The Mississauga, Ontario, native recorded three shots in the match and converted the winner after a shot clanked off the cross bar.

Simpson is the 16th player in program history to be named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week. This is her first career honor and first for the U of M this season.

Memphis returns to action tonight at 7 p.m. in Baton Rouge, La, against LSU before returning to the Bluff City for a six-game homestand.
