Lady Tigers Grab Highest Ranking in Program History
Sept. 13, 2011
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis women's soccer squad continues its trek to the next level as the squad attained the highest ranking in program history on Tuesday. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America top-25 poll was released with the Lady Tigers ranked 11th. Ranked No. 11 in the poll, the U of M breaks the previous highest ranking in the NSCAA poll of 15th set in the release of the week two poll. Off to a program-best 7-0 start, the Lady Tigers currently are tied for the longest winning streak in program history. Soccer America tabbed Memphis No. 12 in their top-25 poll released late Monday. The No. 12 ranking is the highest ranking in the Soccer America poll, bettering the No. 13 ranking last season. Soccer Times ranks the Lady Tigers 18th, one spot shy of the program high in that poll. Memphis rounds out the non-conference slate with a match at Vanderbilt (5-1-0) on Thursday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Nashville, Tenn.
