MEMPHIS, Tenn. - has released their weekly awards and freshman forward Valerie Sanderson was tabbed the National Offensive Player of the Week.

Sanderson, also the Madness American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, had three goals and an assist over the weekend as the Lady Tigers went 2-0 on a trip through South Florida. The Boisbriand, Quebec, native netted the game-winner in the 86th minute in a 2-1 victory at Florida Gulf Coast, ending a 13-match unbeaten streak for FGCU at home. 

Sunday, Sanderson registered her second assist of the season before scoring two of her own. The Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) Player of the Week now has a league best eight goals on the season.

Memphis opens American Athletic Conference play on Friday at Louisville. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. (CT).
