Women's Soccer Game vs. East Carolina Rescheduled for October 19
Oct. 10, 2005 Memphis, Tenn. - The women's soccer game originally scheduled for last Friday at East Carolina that was postponed due to rain has been rescheduled for October 19 at 1:30 p.m. The Tigers and Pirates will now square off next Wednesday in Greenville, N.C. The makeup date was made necessary by the rain storms that blanketed much of the East coast this past weekend, making Bunting Field on the East Carolina campus unplayable. The rescheduling will now break up what was scheduled to be a three-game homestand for the Tigers to round out their home schedule this year. Memphis next plays UAB at home on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. After making the midweek trip to Greenville, the Tigers will return home for their final two home games of the regular season against UCF and Southern Miss next weekend. "Obviously the best case scenario would have been to play the game when it was scheduled but that wasn't possible so this is probably the next best scenario for us," said Memphis coach Brooks Monaghan. "We wanted to play on Tuesday but they (ECU) have two games this weekend and wanted to wait until Wednesday. That does play into our advantage because we have just one game this weekend. We played four games in eight days earlier this year so four games in 10 days shouldn't be as hard, especially this far into the season."
