Women's Soccer to Host Tulsa and SMU This Weekend

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis women's soccer team takes on conference foes, Tulsa and SMU. Memphis will battle Tulsa on Friday, October 19 at 7 p.m. and then play SMU on Sunday, October 21, at 1 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.
The Lady Tigers are coming off a busy week as they beat Houston 3-0 last Friday and tied Rice 1-1 on Sunday, to extend their overall record to 9-2-1. Junior midfielder, Emiko Schwab led the team in both matches, as she scored two goals in the win over Houston and one goal in the tie against Rice.
Memphis will look to remain unbeaten as they put their winning streak to a test at home. They are 6-0 at home this season, tying the school record.
The last time Memphis faced Tulsa was in 2005, where the Lady Tigers beat the Golden Hurricane 1-0, on the road. Tulsa is currently 1-3, in conference play.
Before facing Memphis on Sunday, SMU will play UAB on Friday. The Mustangs are currently 1-3, in conference play. The last time Memphis played SMU was in 2005, the Mustangs beat the Lady Tigers, 2-1.
Memphis is currently ranked No. 16, in the NCAA RPI rankings and No. 8 in both the NSCAA/adidas and Soccer Buzz Central Region rankings.
