Memphis Set to Face Houston in Semifinals of C-USA Women's Soccer Championship

Orlando, Fla. - The University of Memphis Women's Soccer squad will face the Houston Cougars on Friday at the UCF Track and Soccer Complex in the semifinals of the 2010 Conference USA Women's Soccer Championship. Kick-off is slated for 4 p.m. (CT). Memphis (13-3-3), the three-time defending champion of the C-USA Tournament, is the No. 2 seed looking for their 10th-straight victory in C-USA Tournament action. Following a 2-1 regular season finale victory over UAB, Memphis will look to strengthen the hopes of a fourth-straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Houston (12-4-4) topped Marshall 3-0 on Wednesday in the opening round of the C-USA Tournament. The Cougars enter Friday's match with a C-USA leading 12 shutouts on the shoulders of Houston goalkeeper Camille Koski. Koski, a second team All-C-USA selection, carries a 0.61 goals-against average. Memphis and Houston battled to a 1-1 draw in the regular season match-up in Memphis. Senior forward Ashley Berra scored the go-ahead goal for the Lady Tigers in that meeting and Kaci Bush punched in the equalizer for Houston. The championship is set for Sunday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. (EST) and will be aired on the CBS College Sports Network. The semifinals will be streamed through the C-USA All-Access package and is also available through Memphis TigerVision.
