Women's Soccer Heads to El Paso, as the No. 2 Seed in the C-USA Tournament

Watch Live | Gametracker | C-USA Championship Central MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis women's soccer team has clinched a share of the C-USA regular season crown and is now on their way to competing for the C-USA Championship title. The Lady Tigers will start the tournament off on Wednesday, Nov. 7, in a 6:30 pm CT scheduled match up against Southern Miss. All games will be held at UTEP. After earning Co-C-USA regular season honors, the Lady Tigers will go into the C-USA Tournament as the No. 2 seed. Even though Memphis and UCF finished the season tied, 5-1-1, the Knights beat Memphis in a head-to-head match up, 2-1 in double overtime, the Knights will go in as the No. 1 seed. Memphis will take on Southern Miss in the first round of the tournament. They will face off for the second time this season. The two teams played each other on Oct. 26, where the Lady Tigers were victorious, 4-0. The Lady Tigers haven't loss to the Golden Eagles since 2001, where they fell, 2-1, at home. The second round of the tourney will be held on Friday, Nov. 9, while the championship game will be held at 3:00 pm CT. The Lady Tigers jumped to No. 5, in the NSCAA Central Region Rankings final season poll and received two votes in the national rankings released, today. This is the highest Memphis has ever been ranked in school history and the second time this season that they have received first place votes. They have been ranked every week during the regular season, except for one.
