EL PASO, Texas - Head coach Brooks Monaghan took home Conference USA Women's Coach of the Year honors tonight at the women's soccer banquet, held at McKelligon Canyon in El Paso, Texas. Freshman Vendula Strnadova took home three awards, to lead all Lady Tigers.
Strnadova was a unanimous C-USA All-Freshman Team pick. She also earned C-USA Freshman of the Year honors, as well as being the only freshman nominated to the All-C-USA first-team. Vendula finished the regular season with five goals and two assists.
Juniors Kylie Hayes and Emiko Schwab were named to the all conference second team. Hayes had eight goals and three assists to lead the team with 19 points. Schwab had a stellar season as she scored six goals and four assists, including one game winner.
Junior Kate Murphy was the only Memphis player to be named to the All-C-USA Academic Team. Murphy has a cumulative grade point average of 4.0, while majoring in International Business with minors in Spanish and Political Science.
