Memphis to Host UT Martin Saturday in Opening Round of NCAA Tournament

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Appearing in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth-straight season, regional No. 4 seed Memphis (21-0-1) will host a first round match with UT Martin (14-6-2) on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. It will mark the ninth meeting between the two schools and will be the first time Memphis has hosted a match in the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament. The Lady Tigers, winners of five-straight Conference USA Tournament titles, are one of just two unbeaten teams at the Division I Women's Soccer level. The U of M is led by C-USA Offensive Player of the Year Christabel Oduro and her 12 goals and 30 points. Defensively, Memphis has a single-season school record 14 shutouts. UT Martin claimed their first Ohio Valley Conference Championship on Sunday and makes their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Riding a six-game win streak, the Skyhawks are led by Rosaelia Loza with nine goals and 22 points. Saturday's match up will be the ninth meeting between the two programs. Memphis carries a 7-1 advantage in the series, but the two programs haven't met since the 2007 season. More information will be made available as soon as possible.
