MEMPHIS, TENN. - The University of Memphis women's soccer team was crowned Conference USA Tournament champions for the second year in a row. The Lady Tigers receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship with a record of 15-4-2, a 2008 C-USA regular season co-championship, and a 2008 C-USA Tournament championship.

The first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament are Friday, Nov. 14 and Sunday Nov. 16. The Lady Tigers find out who they are paired with for this weekend's match and where their first round site will be tonight on the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship selection show on ESPN News at 7:00 p.m. (CST).

Memphis defeated the East Carolina Pirates 4-1 on Sunday to take home the first place C-USA Championship hardware. Four Lady Tigers were named to the C-USA All-Tournament team. Junior Laura Laufenberg earned C-USA Offensive MVP of the Tournament for her two game winning goals against UAB on Wednesday and Sunday against East Carolina. Sophomore Kelsey Bakker earned C-USA Defensive MVP of the Tournament. Sophomore Vendula Strnadova scored the third goal in Sunday's championship game along with sophomore defender Brittany Hance also earned 2008 C-USA All-Tournament Team honors.
