MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Capping of a magical season, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has ranked the University of Memphis women's soccer team No. 9 in the final poll for the 2011 season.

"I think this final ranking is another step in the right direction for this program," head coach Brooks Monaghan said. "We've set the bar really high here at the University of Memphis for women's soccer and we hope to carry this momentum into next season."

Memphis climbed as high as No. 5 in the poll and finishes the season ranked in the poll for the first time in program history. The Lady Tigers closed the season ranked No. 3 in the Soccer America poll, the highest-ranking for the program at any point of a season.

The Lady Tigers will return 22 players, including seven starters, from the squad that posted a 22-1-1 record, the best record in program history.
