Memphis, Tenn. - University of Memphis women's soccer forward Yuiko Konno became the first Lady Tiger in the program's history to earn All-Region honors after the National Coaches Soccer Assocation of America selected her to their All-Central region third team. It was the second postseason honor for the junior who was also selected first-team All-Conference USA.

"Yuiko stepped right in this season and became the goal scorer for this team," Memphis head coach Brooks Monaghan said. "She came through with some really big goals for us and deserves all the recognition she is receiving."

In her first year with the team, the Chiba-Chiba, Japan native led C-USA in regular season goals with 12, which tied her with former Lady Tiger Shelly Heinz for the second most goals scored in a single season. Her 27 points were the fourth highest single-season total in school history. Konno netted the game-winning goal in three of the Lady Tigers' five wins this season and was second on the team with three assists.
