MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Lizzy Simonin picked up an additional honor on Thursday as she was named to the 2011 Soccer America MVP's first team. 

Simonin, the 2011 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award winner, anchored the U of M defense and led the Lady Tigers to a 22-1-1 record. The Lee's Summit, Mo., native scored six goals and had five assists for 17 points on the year and repeated as C-USA Defensive Player of the Year.

Adding to a long list of accolades, Simonin becomes the first player in program history to be named to a Soccer America MVP. Simonin was also named a NSCAA First Team All-American.
