Memphis-USF Post-Game Notes
Feb. 8, 2008
Memphis played a short-staffed USF team. The Bulls played with only 10 eligible players after 12 players were suspended from competition for the day due to violation of team rules. Freshmen Kailey Kassner and Kimber Bossom made their collegiate debut in the game. Kassner started as the designated player and Bossom started on the mound. Junior first baseman Leila Dolfo registered the Tigers' first hit in the game to lead off the fifth inning. It would be the only hit Memphis would get off USF pitcher Courtney Mosch. Senior catcher converted to outfielder Lindsay Kelso threw out Kelly McCarver at home from centerfield in the fourth inning for her first outfield assist. The six walks by Memphis ties for second in school history. The record for walks allowed is 10 against LSU last season. Kimmi Hayden threw out Kelly McCarver on a stolen base attempt in the first inning. The game marked the first contest between Memphis and USF.
