Memphis to host doubleheader with Wichita State on Saturday

MEMPHIS - The University of Memphis softball team will host a doubleheader with Wichita State on Saturday at 2 p.m. The doubleheader is free to the public. The games are scheduled to be played at the Tiger Softball Complex. Memphis and Wichita State were scheduled to play in the Centenary Spring Tournament in Shreveport, La., that was canceled due to inclement weather. Shreveport, La., received a rare wintery mix, and a blanket of snow now covers the area with about three -four inches accumulated on the ground. The Tigers were scheduled to play Wichita State, Nicholls State, Houston Baptist and Southern over the weekend. Memphis will host its own tournament next weekend beginning on Friday, February 19 and running through Sunday. The six-team tournament will feature Appalachian State, IPFW, Indiana State, McNeese State, Memphis and SEMO.
